Stay wild sunshine child….
You can probably tell by now that this is a pretty cool cuff! I had that moment (or two) of hesitation when I was designing it, thinking “I don’t know if you can do that Jamie”. Would I be able to capture the idea of the horseshoe/head in silver like it is in my head? Would it work? Am I capable?
Well…here’s the answer! Heck yeah! I can and I did! And it’s a mighty good feeling too.
This Royston Turquoise stone is a honker, it’s a statement in itself! I made a home for it in sterling silver, surrounding it with hand stamped details. The cuff foundation is a split shank style and built for both supporting the large stone and for your comfort. The inside is also hand stamped with the sentiment “stay wild sunshine child”.
The shank is textured and layered with horseshoes and horse heads on each side of the stone, making for three layers of silver and adding such cool depth and dimension. The entire piece was then finished with a rich patina and sweet polish to highlight all those details.
The focal setting (stone area) measures 1 5/8” wide and 2” tall. The cuff length is 6” with a 1 1/4” opening at the back and best suited to medium sized wrists.
