Clarity Fluorite Mala
Clarity…
We all appreciate it when it comes to us and we all wish we had more of it when it seems elusive.
Fluorite is known for helping with that…all gemstones have unique properties that offer some kind of physical, mental and spiritual assistance if we are interested. I like to think of it as a gentle and unexpected gift.
This mala, and all my malas, are traditionally made, hand knotted between each and every one of the 108 beads on thick, complimenting silk, making for a strong and yet graceful necklace. This one has 8mm rondelle Fluorite beads, each one bringing it’s own magical color.
Trying to steal the show is the focal pendant…..with it’s kaleidoscope of swirly colors pulling you in. It is actually glass, stained glass scraps to be precise, that were melted down and repurposed into cabochons. I made a home for it in sterling silver, just like I would any other gemstone, adding hand stamped ‘petals’ all around it and the ‘clarity’ reminder on the back.
The mala measures 27” long with a additional 4 1/2” of handmade leather tassel in a chocolate brown. The pendant portion measures just a whisper over 1 1/4” wide, is 1 5/8” tall, including the bail and is finished with a rich patina and soft polish to highlight all the details.
